7 Ways to Keep it 72 and Sunny All Year Long
Wouldn’t it be nice if it really were 72° and sunny all year long? We wish we could make that happen for you (and for us, too). Unfortunately, we can’t change the weather, but we can help you find ways to increase the brightness of your home. Simple additions can help cure rainy day blues and warm up your home so that it always feels bright and welcoming.
1. Turn on the sun
Purchase a synthetic sun lamp. While some people need sun lamps to manage their Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), others who don’t suffer from this serious condition can still benefit from SAD lamps. Increasing Vitamin D production is advantageous for everyone as it promotes stronger bones, improves muscle function, protects against cardiovascular disease, decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. A SAD lamp is beneficial to overall wellness, especially during the darker seasons!
2. Let it shine throughout
Construction may not be an option for everyone, but a skylight is a great alternative to add more natural light to your home. Skylights are like windows for your roof. By opening up your roof, you are allowing more direct light to reach that particular room, no matter the weather. Even if it’s raining, that skylight will effectively brighten your walls!
3. Open yourself to the brightness and warmth
Open your door walls and windows! Remove stale air from your home by letting your home breathe. Moving fresh air through your home adds clean CO₂ and freshness. Give your walls a break from recycled air and let them enjoy a moment of breeziness.
4. Decorate the atmosphere
Change your décor! When the weather gets you down, spruce up your space with colorful accessories that brighten the atmosphere. It may be cold and gray outside, but you can forget about that with warm and bright décor that reminds you of nicer climates.
5. Don't let the sunset on you
While it may not be practical or even possible to watch the sunset every day, you can invite the Sunset Estates Collection mat into your home. This warm, brightly colored, comfortable, floor mat is named after the afternoon rays that cast a glow upon the earth. The color induces a feeling of familiarity and adds dimension to any room.
6. Color your world
Painting a room may be laborious, but it can completely change the ambience of a room. Brighten your walls with fresh new colors that enhance natural light instead of absorb it. Even if you love the color that you selected 5+ years ago, a fresh coat of paint can do wonders for a home and make it feel new again.
7. End the winter hibernation
Remove the blinds from your windows. Everyone loves and respects privacy, but it comes at a price. By stifling the amount of light coming into your home, you’re inadvertently dimming it. Open up your windows by removing window treatments that hamper sunlight.
